Anxiety, like any other emotion, constitutes of 3 aspects:
1. The physical sensation
2. The thoughts/narratives
3. The action tendency/makes you behave
It can be helpful to visualise Anxiety like a person who embodies these 3 aspects. Visualise this person in extreme detail- how they look, how they dress, how they hold themselves and what they sound like. Visualise this person as the one speaking out the thoughts/narratives of anxiety. Them trying to make you behave in specific ways (as you do when you're anxious).
Personifying your anxiety can help you feel like you have a bit more space to decide what you do with your anxiety.
