HOW TO FIND YOUR PURPOSE IN 4 MOVES part 2/5
This is the first of the 4 steps I suggest you take to dig deeper in your soul and become more aware of what’s next for you.
1- Accept what is
I struggled enormously and for the longest time when I fist was asked to accept. It felt passive and therefore inconclusive and surely not helping. I found out in time that accepting actually means to listen to what is. Accepting means acknowledging your starting point. Accepting may mean to set camp where you are, not build a huis, just set camp. Not just with the purpose of waiting for instruction on the next step to make, but to discover where you are, to look around and discover what you may have overlooked.
Accepting is about realizing that it is not a coincidence that you find yourself where you are. There is a world of information about you and your process in acknowledging the here and now. Maybe you don’t want to be there, well, the way out is through and the entrance is exactly where you are now. I mean inside of you: what you are afraid of, what you are running away from, what you are trying to avoid, just to mention few examples.
How can you find out what you need to accept?
I will suggest a couple of ways and you can try the ones that intuitively call for you and try them out. All these are meant to be used as practices, done regularly.
MEDITATION
Sitting in silence, focusing on your breathing or on music for as little as 10 minutes, on a regular basis, can bring you really close to yourself and therefore to what you may need to accept. Extra tip to hack your meditation is to listen to binaural beats at 7.5 Hz with headphone on as you meditate. It enhances the depth of the experience and the richness of the creative process.
WRITING
Writing every day 3 pages about whatever goes through your mind, has an incredible power. It is a moment of reflection, honest sharing and unveiling of feelings you may not manage to give space to during the day. Many successful people swear by the power of keeping a journal to empty their head and open up to creativity and insight.
