  • Family Constellations: The 3 laws of love

Three laws pertaining love and the flow of love within families were identified in the seventies. When one or more of these principle are subverted, a disharmony is created and one or more descendent in that family will end up resonating with that unbalance.
There are three laws of love that need to be respected in order for the energy of love to flow and enrich the life of the members of the family.
The first law is the law of belonging. This law states that everybody that is born within a family belongs to that family and has therefore a rightful place in the family, no matter what.
This law requires that nobody is ever excluded by the family. It can happened, however, that member of the family that trigger shame, pain or judgment by other family members, are excluded: for example when nobody in the family talks about that person and the descendants don't even know he/she existed.
To correct this injustice the excluded member(s) will need to be reintegrated and given a place in the heart of at list a family member.
The second law of love is the law of hierarchy. This law talks about the role within a family: who is born first (parents for the children, older siblings for the younger siblings) has a different place and different responsibilities towards the other members of the family.
The parents are always the big one and the children are the little ones, regardless of age. The parents give unconscionably and the children receive with gratitude: this is how the energy is supposed to flow.
For example, when a child judges his/her parents, there is an inversion of the roles: the child feels better than the parents and puts himself/herself in the position of the big one with regards to the parents. This disbalance has consequences and needs addressing.
The third law of love is the law of balance in the roles. This rules connects really closely to the previous one: everybody has a role with certain responsibilities: a mother is different from an aunt, a father from a grandfather. The most important application of this law pertain the couple where the roles and responsibilities are supposed to be shared equally.
When this rule is not in harmony in a family someone is taking responsibilities of a role that doesn't belong and someone else is not taking his/her responsibilities. Healing requires that the role are clarified and repossessed correctly.
